Gurgaon Flat Owner Arrested for Renting to Foreigner without Police Verification

A man has been arrested for allegedly renting out his flat in Gurgaon to six foreign nationals without completing mandatory police verification, officials said.

The arrest followed a verification drive conducted on Sunday at M3M Woodshire Society in Sector 107 by a team from the Rajendra Park police station, which found multiple violations during routine checks.

Six Foreign Nationals Found Without Mandatory C-Forms

During the inspection, police discovered six foreign nationals staying in the apartment without prior intimation to authorities or submission of mandatory C-Forms, which are required for police verification under existing rules.

“During the investigation, it was found that the flat owner neither informed the police nor filled the mandatory C-Forms. When questioned, he failed to provide a satisfactory explanation,” a police officer said.

FIR Registered, Accused Taken into Custody

An FIR was registered against the flat owner, identified as Ashmit Grover, a resident of Dwarka, at the Rajendra Park police station. He was arrested on Monday, officials confirmed.

Police Warn Property Owners and Hosts

Police have issued a caution to hotel operators, guest house owners, and individuals offering rental or homestay accommodation to ensure timely filing of C-Forms and prior intimation to the local police station for foreign nationals.

Officials warned that strict legal action will be taken against those who violate the verification norms.
