In June 2025, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation will roll out its new digital platform, EPFO 3.0, which is believed to bring in a sea change in the experience of its 7 crore users (members). The new upgrades make it an easy task for EPFO members to access and manage their provident fund accounts easily.
Members under the EPFO 3.0 will be equipped with a new mobile application, an ATM card for the withdrawal of PF, and a self-attestation feature for making the process of withdrawal easier.
Currently, EPF members have to wait 7-10 days for withdrawals after submitting requests and need employer attestation. With the new system, members will have the facility of withdrawing money directly from ATMs using a special card that will be introduced, thus giving them faster and easier access to their retirement savings.
In general, EPFO 3.0 will make the management of provident fund accounts more user-friendly, similar to banking services, whereby the subscriber can check the balance in his account, file claims, and withdraw money through the mobile app and ATM card without having to go through lengthy approval processes.
